Big Pink house & land, the original get-a-way for road-shocked musicians, still remain mostly the same as ever: bucolic, inspirational setting amid whispering pine & Catskill meadowland.
Dirt road approach off the paved road leads to the iconic place where the original basement band-recordings happened, now to your creative-retreat central.
The attic, with the dormer installed by the 2nd owner in the late '70s, was where Levon Helm bunked in the latter Basement Tapes years and onward with most of the rest of Band. Their first record was named referencing the local nick-name for the house. Hundreds of people come annually on Rock-Americana pilgrimage, brave foreboding signs and rutted roads to have a glimpse, take a pic.
The Dormer @ Big Pink is the attic-loft of Big Pink. The central staircase opens mid-unit to a dining table & chairs; to the right is a desk-bar, the kitchen, bathroom, and a futon-couch-sitting area.
To the left, in the bedroom area, there's a sitting area as well. The entire Dormer has views of Overlook Mt.
Outside on the side lawn, there is lawn furniture as well as the original stone fireplace/BBQ area, back under the pines.
